Raw kvass can be made from any raw berries, vegetables or fruits. It does not add the yeast. Today I will show you how to make kvass from beets. This useful vitamin drink.
Description of preparation:
Raw chopped beets put in a large jar and cover them with sugar, fill with warm purified water and allow to ferment 3 to 5 days at room temperature. Filter. Pour into bottles, cap them tightly and store in the refrigerator.
- Water — 2-2,5 Liters
- Sugar — 2 Tbsp. spoon
- Beets — 5 Pieces
How to prepare “Raw kvass”
Prepare water, sugar and beets.
The beets clean and cut finely the maximum, you can use a grater.
In a clean sterile jar fold on the bottom and sugar beets.
Pour warm water (boil it is not necessary). Leave to ferment warm. The fermentation time depends on the ambient temperature: the warmer the room is, the faster it will ferment. Cover the bottle with gauze kvass needs to breathe.
When the brew ferment, strain it through several layers of cheesecloth. Cool. The kvass is ready!
